Support the Student Academic Experience

Employers appreciate and value how Mount Royal graduates can hit the ground running once they complete their education.

We prepare students for life outside the classroom with hands-on learning through community service learning opportunities, national or international field schools, student exchange programs and simulations, such as model assemblies and moot courts. The cost to take advantage of experiential learning opportunities is prohibitive for many Mount Royal students.

Support is needed to enable Mount Royal students to make the most of their education in the following priority areas.

Internship funding grants: Many Mount Royal programs require a work term or internship: these are often unpaid. While the experience is invaluable, many students struggle because they need paid employment to support themselves.

Student research grants: Mount Royal students get the unique opportunity to participate in research early on, giving them a solid foundation for higher learning and making them great employees.

Student conference travel grants: With the help of professors, students can publish their research findings and attend conferences to showcase their work to others in their field. Not all students can afford to attend conferences: grants make it possible. This invaluable experience prepares students for professional practice, as well as graduate education.

Midwifery travel grants: Students in midwifery must do six clinical courses where they partner in a field setting with practicing midwives. Students pay travel and living expenses for clinical placements that are often in remote locations. These grants help future midwives get this critical experience.
