1. Add MRU Giving Day to your Calendar
Giving Day is a 24-hour celebration of the MRU community’s generosity. It's your chance to open doors, remove barriers and elevate every student - one gift, one story, one connection at a time. This year, Giving Day is Tuesday, December 2, 2025. In just one day, the MRU community comes together to help students grow beyond expectations - supporting scholarships, mental health programs, immersive learning, and more.
Every eligible Giving Day gift is matched up to $500 - so your support will go even further!

2. Champion a project in your area
You're more than a supporter—you’re a Campus Booster. That means you’re part of a community that believes in the power of showing up for students. We know that you connect with the broader MRU Community every day. If there’s an opportunity to highlight and champion a project in your area for Giving Day, we can support that!
MRU Giving Day projects fit the following criteria:
• Student focused. These projects have a direct impact on the student experience.
• Annually expensed. These projects are funded and expensed in the same year (think annual scholarship, or field school)
• Moderate Cost. Giving Day is a short-term urgent campaign. Projects typically fall between $1,000 and $10,000
• Active Advocate. We will provide the platform to highlight the project, and you actively promote this project and leverage those in your network who are willing to support the cause.
If you meet the above criteria, please fill out this form and someone from the Foundation will reach out to you once the project has been reviewed.
3. Help spread the word
Make sure your friends and colleagues know about MRU Giving Day!
If you’re active on social media, help us spread the word to those in your community. Our Giving Day toolkit gives you all the information to share out links and stories about Giving Day.
Share your own MRU story, a picture, or video (TikTok dance anyone??)
• Share: Post to your social media and tell your network why MRU matters to you.
• Tell your story: Your personal connection makes MRU Giving Day real for others.
• Encourage others to give: Share the MRU Giving Day donation link and cheer people on.
• Use the hashtags: #MRUGivingDay #ElevateEveryStudent

4. Donate to an area you're passionate about
You can make a difference in a student’s life by supporting an area you are passionate about. Every eligible gift made between November 15 and December 2 will be matched up to $500.

5. Purchase a 50/50 Ticket - support students and get a chance to win up to $10,000
The annual MRU Giving Day 50/50 Raffle opens once again on November 1, providing you with a chance to support students AND get a chance to win up to $10,000.
All ticket purchases will support Student Scholarships, with 50% of all ticket sales going to one lucky winner. And who doesn’t need a little extra holiday cash? Ticket sales start November 1 with the draw being made on December 3, 2025.
6. Join us in providing Coffee on Mainstreet for Students
Every Tuesday in November (excepting November 11) the MRU Foundation will be on mainstreet providing coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to students and talking to them about the impact of philanthropy - we also provide opportunities for students to give us their feedback about the areas they think need more support, and how that support has impacted them personally.
