Brian was someone we all affectionately had the privilege of calling a colleague, a mentor, a friend, a confidant, a teacher, a collaborator, and a man to count on when you needed him. He was instrumental in building the Supply Chain program at MRU, establishing the Analytics Lab, and developing countless industry partnerships. The steady stream of industry professionals bringing their experience and knowledge to our students was a testament to the connections that Brian fostered and to the genuine person we knew and loved.
Brian was very accomplished, and particularly passionate about working with others and being surrounded by family and friends. As a business professional, professor, and coach, Brian mentored numerous colleagues and students, remaining in contact with many of them years after they had graduated or moved on in their careers. Brian’s role as an associate professor in the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University was a highlight of his career.
A life-long learner, Brian graduated from the Swiss Management Center University in 2014 with a Doctorate of Management. Always up for a laugh, Brian was delighted to be referred to as ‘Dr. Dad’ by his fellow students.
Brian was a member of the Board of Directors of Supply Chain Canada (Alberta Institute), Vice-Chair and Treasurer of the Calgary Logistics Council, and a valued member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
This endowment fund, created in memory of Brian, will be used to support students and to promote in all of our graduates the values that he espoused.
