Student Ambassadors are a diverse group of student leaders, who are interested in engaging with MRU's generous donors at events and meetings hosted by the MRU Foundation; they also play an important part in curating the donor experience at MRU through targeted communications, acknowledgement and creative impact storytelling. They exist to help build and reinforce the relationships between MRU and its most dedicated constituents.

The Student Ambassador Program is an integral part of the Donor Relations team in the Foundation. As a Student Ambassador, the students provide support for the Foundation. They represent the breadth and depth of MRU students across faculties, departments, disciplines, skill sets and backgrounds. They are motivated, passionate, authentic, and interested in honing their communications skills. There will be a cap of 20 students that are welcomed into the program.

The core purpose of the program is to strengthen relationships and enhance the experiences for Mount Royal supporters, largely through engagement at Special Events hosted by the Foundation or project based gratitude campaigns (thank you letters and calls). Ambassadors may also have other opportunities, such as speaking at events. All events require different tasks, but a typical event might involve Ambassadors helping with set-up, running check-in, and welcoming donors. After donors are mostly accounted for, Ambassadors will often get ample time to engage in conversations with donors, whether informally or sitting for a meal. When the event is winding down, Ambassadors will say goodbye to donors and help with tear-down.
